Staying in a private house in the very heart of Havana. Casa Wilfredo is located at a distance of 2 min. walking from the legendary Habanero promenade - the "Malecón" - and in only approx. 5 min walking you can reach the boulevard "Obispo" and the historic center of the city - "Old Havana".
The private house is located almost directly in front of the most famous bar-restaurant in all of Havana - "La Guarida" - known from the film "Fresa & Chocolate". This place is said to be "the most difficult table to book in Havana", as stars like Madonna, Rihanna or Beyoncé have dined in this place. In addition, this building is probably one of the most photographed places in the city. It is also worthwhile to just have a cocktail in one of the 2 terraces. It's not cheap but the view over all the roofs of the neighborhood is very beautiful.
Casa de Wilfredo is small and the guest can receive a good impression of an authentic Cuban house in the city. The heated room is very nice and spacious and is reached on a staircase to the first floor. Equipped with air conditioning (split), fan, a private bathroom with hot and cold water, a double bed (1.60 x 2 m), a security drawer to store valuable things and a refrigerator. The room has a nice little balcony where you can see the daily life of Habanera Street or just enjoy a drink. If the weather is good, breakfast is served on the same balcony. Bedding and towels are included in the price of the room.
Around you will find numerous restaurants for every pocket, cafes and shops or theaters and places to dance like for example the "Casa de la Música de Galliano".
Smoking is only allowed on the balcony. Visits that are not guests are not allowed access to the room. You can not bring animals.
Wilfredo speaks as almost all landlords in Cuba only Spanish, but his son Jorge has lived more than 17 years in Germany and that is why he speaks good German and a little English. With great pleasure you can help during the day with all the questions about the destination Cuba and especially Havana. You can always come to Jorge's private house too (only 3 blocks away) to answer questions and if you wish to book additional services.
